Trojan General Contracting, one of the UAE’s leading construction companies, has signed a strategic transport services agreement with Etihad Rail Freight, a key operator of the UAE’s national rail network. This collaboration aims to revolutionize the country’s logistics sector by transitioning a significant portion of freight transport from road to rail, which will significantly reduce carbon emissions and support the UAE’s sustainability goals.
Under this innovative partnership, Etihad Rail Freight will offer comprehensive end-to-end logistics solutions, including first and last-mile delivery services. The agreement focuses on the transport of aggregates from Trojan’s quarries in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and Fujairah to major industrial hubs such as Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD) and Dubai Industrial City (DIC). Cargo will be transported efficiently through the advanced rail terminal at Al Ghail Dry Port in RAK, ensuring seamless connectivity and increased supply chain efficiency across the Emirates. In addition, the agreement offers secure warehousing solutions at key locations, optimizing the logistics process from start to finish.
Gunther J. Ferk, CEO of Etihad Rail Freight, said: “This partnership strengthens our commitment to expanding the UAE’s logistics infrastructure while prioritizing sustainability and safety. We are driving innovation in freight transport by offering tailored and integrated solutions that lay the foundation for a more sustainable future.”
By joining forces, Etihad Rail Freight and Trojan General Contracting are set to improve the UAE’s logistics ecosystem, reduce environmental impact, and provide a sustainable alternative to road transport, supporting the country’s broader environmental and connectivity goals.
