After being acquired in February 2023, ST Engineering opened a brand-new, cutting-edge smart shipyard at Gul Yard, Singapore. The company sees Gul Yard as a crucial component of its strategy to modernize and expand its shipbuilding and ship repair operations in Singapore, replacing the ailing Tuas Yard, scheduled to close by the end of 2024.

Double the size of Tuas Yard, the recently enlarged Gul Yard is equipped with state-of-the-art smart shipyard technology to manage increasingly complex and large-scale ship repair and offshore construction projects. The Gul Yard, with its cutting-edge digital infrastructure and enhanced capabilities in ship repair and offshore renewable energy projects, is well-positioned to lead Singapore’s maritime industry.

By combining Gul Yard and Benoi Yard, ST Engineering is taking a major step towards streamlining operations and increasing efficiency at both sites. Through this integration, ST Engineering is able to execute cutting-edge marine renewable energy and shipbuilding projects for domestic and international markets by leveraging the combined strength of Gul Yard and Benoi Yard.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, ST Engineering is focusing on offshore renewable projects and supporting green initiatives in the shipbuilding industry through the expanded Gul Yard. This makes the company a leader in adopting smart shipyard technology that promotes eco-friendly practices within Singapore’s shipbuilding sector.
